Overwhelmed...

If this isn't overwhelming, I don't know what is...

Today we went for our first appointment with the RE. Dr. Slayden and his staff are very nice. His belief after talking to us is that I may have PCOS. I should know something when I go back on November 7th. Tomorrow I have to have blood drawn. Alex goes on Monday for blood work and a semen analysis. Once this is done and if he is correct about his prediction then I'll have to make a decision on what medication I'd like to start. The choices are Metformin or Clomid. Option A -Metformin is the cheaper of the two and has the possibility of helping me loose weight. Option B - Clomid is expensive and I've heard it is very evil with the side effects. The reason Clomid is so expensive is because it is the top of the line - it gives me the best chance of getting pregnant. I am the type of person who will do anything to get what I want. If I choose A it won't cost us near the amount of money, I could possible loose weight and I do have the possibility of conceiving. Picking B will cost us more, have crazy side effects and have a greater chance at getting pregnant. If it isn't PCOS then we'll go back to the drawing board...

We were also sent home with a lot of information to read which included prices...yozers. I heard my wallet screaming "DANG YOU OVARIES!!!"

Nothing new...

The RE called late last week and had to change the time for our appointment...It is now at 10:30. Other than this nothing new is happening.

We did go to the UGA vs. TN game on Saturday and had such a blast! Here is a picture of us at the game:

Appointment with RE...

RBA called me while I was at lunch with my DH today...appointment is set up for 9:00 on October 22nd. Here's hoping nothing is seriously wrong...

Introduction...

Welcome to our journey...

My name is Leigh Ann and my husband's name is Alex. We are both born and raised in Georgia and still live here. I'm not sure we'll ever leave. We started dating in December of 2005 and were married on November 17, 2007. We both love to watch Georgia football every Saturday in the fall. Actually, my husband is obsessed with Georgia football. He can tell you about a sophomore in high school who Georgia is trying to recruit. It's insane the knowledge he has for Georgia Football. My loves are shopping and NASCAR. I have followed Jimmie Johnson since his rookie season and fell in love with his laid back attitude and his non-aggressive style of driving. So far I've been to Atlanta Motor Speedway and Richmond International Raceway.

My husband and I decided in January that we would like to start trying to conceive. After almost 10 months we've had no success. After not having a period for three months due to a cyst on one of my ovaries, irregular cycles consisting of 45 days or more and wasting money on opk's and on a cbefm I have begun to realize that I may just not be ovulating. I've submitted our application on Monday to Reproductive Biology Associates and I'm waiting for a call back to set up an appointment. So here we are....
