Opps…I’m a little late!
The IUI went great. It took less than 5 minutes. DH’s post wash number was 11 million – it was 36 million pre wash. So we’re really happy! Hopefully one of the four mature follies released one or two eggs and met one of the 11 million sperms and made sweet, sweet love. J Haha! I went back to work for the rest of the day and felt fine. On my ride home I noticed some slight cramping but nothing to be worried about as I’ve read this is normal. My DH wouldn’t let me do a thing once I got home. I sat on the couch with my legs propped up and my lap top in my lap. He questioned if the lap top should be that close to the area so I he made me put a pillow in my lap and move it down some – he is so cute sometimes!
I had my progesterone level check yesterday and it is at 36. Nurse J said it is a good number. From what I’ve read anything over 15 is good. Nurse J had a good laugh that I’ve been testing out the trigger shot. She wondered where I knew to do that and I admitted that I read way too many things on google and on the bump boards I visit. She then thought it would be cute to quiz me on why they check the progesterone. I knew half the answer – yay! Go me!
I have been testing out my trigger since Friday. My DH didn’t believe it would show a positive and questioned where I read this from. So I took the test on Friday, of course it had two lines but he still didn’t believe me since that line wasn’t as dark as the other line. I had to get out the box and show him the pictures of a positive and for the first time tell him that a line is a line. I finally reached a negative this Tuesday.
My husband made sure on Tuesday that I had my mind on other things other than my 2ww. My husband fell back in early January and hurt his calf. He went to the doctor and they said keep it on a heating pad and to take naproxen. His leg got better within a few days. Well, about four weeks ago the same leg started bothering him again. I asked him to go to the doctor but being the stubborn man that he is decided he could deal with the pain and limping. Last week his pain and swelling started to move up his leg and eventually he had pain in his calf and lower thigh. His thigh even had a knot about the size of a quarter start to form. He finally broke down and made a doctors appointment for Monday morning. The NP decided that she didn’t think it was a blood clot but would send him for an ultrasound just to be sure. He was able to get in for Tuesday afternoon. I receive a call around 4:00 and he states “They found two blood clots in my leg. I’m in a wheel chair. Can you come get me and take me to the emergency room?” My natural reaction is to freak out!!!! I left work in about 2.5 seconds and rushed to the medical building he was at. We then had to sit in the ER waiting room for 3 ½ hours before he received a room. When I say room I mean 3 curtains and a wall. The doctor came in, I’m not kidding you, for a 30 second visit!!!! He said “yep, two clots, not too deep. Continue taking the naproxen, warm compresses and rest. You will be able to go home in just a few minutes.” When he walked out I lost my mind. Where were the tests the imaging center said they would run?? What happened to that? Are you kidding me? My H said he was fine with it all and we left. I cannot believe the lack of care this place has – I’ve always hated this hospital and now they have given me even more of a reason. My mom, his mom and I have convinced him to see a vascular doctor who he will see this Friday.
The reason that I freaked out is 1. This is my husband. 2. H’s father died when H was just a young child. He had cancer and was in the middle of a treatment and had a blood clot in his brain and died. My H and his brother didn’t know that he had cancer. His Mom and Dad decided that it was better off for them not knowing. I can tell you that my H is the guy that he is today because he had to grow up so quick at such a young age.
Blood clots now scare me. They aren’t something you take lightly.
I will most likely dispute all charges we receive from the hospital and the time they made us waste for telling us what we already knew!!!
Wow, this post is long – Sorry!!!
